Do you hold a Full UK Driving Licence? Are you looking to build a career in Plumbing/Drainage? Attega Group is working on behalf of our client as their in-house recruitment provider. We are currently recruiting for a Plumbing/Drainage assistant to join their team.

The main purpose of this Plumbing/Drainage Assistant role is to assist the Lead Plumbing/Drainage operative with quoted works and remedial teams. In return, our client is offering a salary of up to £36,000 P/A, depending on experience. This role is full-time and permanent.

Reporting to the Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the lead operative undertaking internal and external investigation works, above ground and below ground descales with use of HPWJ and mechanical coring/milling equipment.
  • Learning how to operate electrical mechanical coring equipment and Picote milling machines for internal drainage clearance works.
  • Become competent in operating HPWJ equipment.
  • Capable of investigating and tracing external underground drainage systems on commercial and industrial sites.
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer focused attitude.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual and it is important that you have excellent people, communication and customer service skills.
  • Leak tracing and investigation on above ground water services.
  • Repairing leaks on water services in service voids and risers.
  • Removing and replacing small bore waste pipe on pot wash sinks, basins, urinals etc.
  • Replacing mixer taps, wash down taps and spray guns.
  • Replacing toilet float lines and stack pipework.
  • Removing and installing cast iron soil pipework.
  • Supporting drainage operatives with internal drain descales.
  • Capable of identifying configuration and design issues within internal drainage systems.
  • Competent in undertaking CCTV survey inspections where you will be responsible for identifying defects, pipe condition, design issues and misconnections within underground and above ground drainage systems.
  • Using CCTV equipment to support leak investigation.
  • Taking water samples to confirm source of leaks.

The ideal candidate:

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Happy to assist on nights and possible stay away works.
  • Plumbing/Drainage experience or understanding.
