Do you have experience working in a finance or accounts department? Do you have strong administration skills? We are recruiting a Credit Control Assistant to join the team. The main purpose of this role is to support the Credit Control function of the business. In return, we are offering a salary of £28,000 P/A, depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday, cycle to work scheme, Christmas shutdown plus more! This role is full-time and permanent. The hours of work will be full time and 37 hours; 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and Friday 08:00 – 15:30.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Process new customer accounts/orders.
- Raise manual VAT invoices & return receipts.
- Maintain meaningful chase notes on the system.
- Help escalate overdue payments.
- Order credit reports.
- Evaluate all new orders within 48 hours of receipt.
- Set/maintain/monitor credit limits.
- Devise and agree payment plans for higher risk clients.
- Seek to meet daily/weekly/monthly/annual cash collection targets.
- Recovery of retention balances.
- Ensure the effective allocation of cash receipts on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate:
- Strong Excel and Word skills.
- Ideally will have some recent experience working in an accounts or finance department.
- Able to work to deadlines and targets.
- Eager to learn and develop skills in a credit control environment.
