About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an Engineer to join our expanding infrastructure team. The candidate will have very good structural/technical skills and a desire to develop them further during the next career step. He/she will have demonstrable experience working in one or more Infrastructure Sectors (Rail/Roads/Water/Energy), in one or more of the following areas:

  • Structural / Bridge / Heavy Civils
  • Permanent and Temporary Works

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of concept, schematic, detailed designs for a variety civil structure
  • Undertaking detailed analysis, design computations and running complex models and constructability reviews
  • Preparation of sketches and technical reports
  • Peer review of detailed calculations, technical reports, and design concepts.
  • Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants, and clients.
  • Participation in internal design team meetings and in external meetings with the client and other consultants
  • Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and to provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice
  • Guide and liaise with design teams of engineers and drafters to ensure project objectives are being achieved.
  • Identifying opportunities for follow on work, developing proposals and bids on small to medium scale projects and supporting bids and proposal development on large scale projects

About You:

  • Member of a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • 2-4 yrs experience in civils/heavy civils/structural/bridge design.
  • Experience with structural software (MIDAS, LUSAS, Strand etc..)
  • Geotechnical skills would be advantageous.
