Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant - Nuclear Safety, ideally with a background in the nuclear or defence sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as safety engineering lead, providing recommendations through analysis to improve the safety engineering performance and delivery of departmental outputs.
- Facilitating the build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem solving.
- Ensuring the maintenance of design intent during the build and commissioning.
- Advise and conduct Intelligent Customer duties regarding documentation, advice and services provided to the business.
- Supporting assessment of design changes.
- Assessing build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases.
- Providing technically sound challenges to existing requirements.
- Writing and presenting reports to communicate nuclear safety matters to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree Qualified Engineering/Physical Science discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics.
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations.
- Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle.
- Proven experience of justifying design change.
Desirable:
- Proven technical report writing skills.
- Presentation skills.
