Your new company
You will be joining an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Derby, operating across the commercial, industrial and energy industries. This multi-accredited contractor delivers projects valued at up to £20m for an array of high-profile clients and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and hands-on professional development. Due to continued success, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their pre-contract team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates from concept through to tender submission
Analysing drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
Evaluating subcontract and supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness
Conducting risk assessments and applying appropriate contingencies to estimates
Participating in tender reviews and presentations to senior management
Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
Mentoring and supporting assistant estimators and contributing to team development.
What you\’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
Minimum 5 years of experience estimating within the civil engineering industry
Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, materials and regulations
Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Full UK driving licence.
