Senior Civil / Utilities Engineer

Contract Role

£330/day + Van

A leading infrastructure and utilities contractor is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Utilities Engineer to support delivery across high-profile civil and utility schemes. This is a contract role, ideal for a proactive and technically strong engineer with extensive experience in utility coordination, civil works, and construction interface management.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the technical delivery of civil and utility packages across one or more live infrastructure projects. This includes interfacing with design, construction, and statutory authority teams to ensure that works are compliant, coordinated, and executed to programme.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the coordination and execution of utilities diversions, new connections, and enabling works.

Manage civil works associated with drainage, ducting, concrete structures, and temporary/permanent infrastructure.

Review and manage technical documentation including method statements, risk assessments, and permits.

Liaise with local authorities, statutory undertakers, and client teams to manage approvals and permissions.

Track programme progress and provide technical input to planning and sequencing discussions.

Monitor site activity and ensure civil and utility works are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

Support commercial and procurement teams with scope definition, subcontractor engagement, and variation assessments.

Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified or time-served engineer with strong civil/utilities background.

Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior site-based civil/utilities role, ideally with Tier 1 contractors.

Deep understanding of utility coordination processes, NRSWA, and relevant construction standards.

Proven experience managing sub-contractors and third-party interfaces.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Ability to interpret drawings, technical specs, and construction sequencing plans.
