A leading engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to provide expert technical support across all business units. This role is pivotal in developing, maintaining, and improving chemical processes while ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, NADCAP, and customer accreditations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the incorporation of customer specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements into the Quality Management System.
- Manage and support ISO 17025, NADCAP, and customer audits for chemical processes.
- Collaborate with environmental, health & safety teams and external service providers to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead investigations into production issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and enhance special process activities to maintain ongoing accreditations.
- Provide technical support for Metallurgy, Engineering, Planning, and NPI projects.
- Review and maintain chemical process documentation, including data cards, process specifications, and quality instructions.
- Conduct internal audits and analyse historical data trends to ensure process efficiency and compliance.
- Lead and develop a team, providing mentorship, training, and performance management.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expertise in anodising, chemical conversion, and etching processes.
- In-depth knowledge of NADCAP chemical processing programmes.
- A recognised industry qualification in Chemistry or Metal Finishing (e.g. Institute of Metal Finishing).
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team development, project management, and problem-solving.
- Understanding of aerospace and alternative sector quality requirements.
