This is a senior, project-based position. You will be responsible for leading quality assurance across a major heavy civil engineering project. You will report into the Construction Manager and hold line management of a Quality Engineer. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System, which includes monitoring, maintaining, and improving policies, plans, procedures, and associated documentation. You will oversee assurance of the supply chain, including subcontractors and manufacturers. The position will be based mainly in the project office (EC3M), with a requirement to spend one to two days a week on site (Essex). This is a long-term project which will last through to 2029.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Develop and implement the Quality Management Systems on site, and maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification
  • Understand the policies, processes, works information, statutory requirements, and ensure that these requirements are adopted and effectively implemented on the project
  • Work collaboratively with the team in producing specific Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and procedures
  • Monitor and measure quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with the works information and alignment with HS’s quality requirements
