Our client is a successful, renowned Global Commodity Trading house. Due to expansion and growth, we are looking for an experienced Ship Operator (ideally with a sea faring background/foundation), to work in the global shipping team, based in London.
As the new Ship Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet of oil tankers. Operators provide direct cover for all vessels in region and monitoring for vessels out of region operated by teams in other regions.
In this commercially focused role, you will enjoy working within the Oil trading group, working closely with the Oil trading team. Dealing with local agents at all ports of call to ensure that the vessel is properly attended to and that all relevant in port requirements/needs are met and arranged.
Keeping track of the voyage PnL to ensure that this is up to date and to ensure the vessel is earning the money that was projected. Generating the freight invoice, accruing for and invoicing other items such as interim port time/bunkers/costs, cargo heating costs, etc.
Monitoring the oil major approval status of the vessels and ensuring the vessel is being inspected regularly to ensure that it maintains valid.
Previous work-based experience as a ship/tanker Operator. Knowledgeable and good understanding of shipping operations in the oil or tanker industry.
