Join a major offshore wind programme supporting the UK's 2030 renewable energy targets. We're recruiting a Project Engineer - Offshore Export Cable Supply to work on three large-scale offshore wind farms. As Export Cable Supply Project Engineer, you will be integrated into the offshore export cable team, focusing specifically on the export cable supply scope. This is a key role requiring deep technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of one of the most critical work packages in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Work Package Manager and act as the subject matter expert for offshore export cable systems.
  • Provide technical input into the design, qualification, manufacture, quality control, testing, and commissioning of export cables (onshore & offshore).
  • Coordinate closely with Transport & Installation (T&I) teams on cable loadout planning and scheduling.
  • Lead on cable design and rating verification calculations.
  • Maintain and develop specifications, procedures, and technical documentation related to cable supply activities.
  • Review study results, design documents, and construction plans to ensure alignment with employer and project requirements.
  • Support interface management across landfall, offshore substations, and other relevant work packages.
  • Participate in and, where required, lead workstream meetings, supplier discussions, and internal technical sessions.
  • Ensure clear and consistent documentation of meeting outcomes and action points.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in offshore export cable design, manufacturing, and testing on at least one offshore wind project.
  • Strong knowledge of international offshore cable standards and testing protocols.
  • Must have electrical cable engineering experience.
  • Skilled in cable design, rating calculations, and verification.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Experience working with contractors and managing complex technical interfaces.
  • Familiarity with QA processes, supplier management, and tendering in offshore wind.
  • Sound understanding of HSE principles relevant to offshore cable work.
  • Proficient with MS Office and document management systems.
  • Awareness of industry trends and developments in export cable systems.
  • Understanding of commercial and contractual frameworks in offshore wind projects.
