Job Description 12 Month Contract – Inside IR35 £46.90 per hour umbrella Hybrid working – 1 – 2 days per week on site Job Role: Applies design knowledge in mechanical aspects of all Power and Propulsion (P&P) systems to resolve specialist design problems and issues. Assists with the development of Power and Propulsion systems, providing design input to subcontractors and ensuring that the architecture and detailed design are fit for purpose, with a focus on technical viability and safe operation of specific auxiliary systems for which the individual is responsible. Supports the development of SQEP within the P&P sub-discipline. Key areas of activity: Participate in developing, maintaining, and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational needs. Carry out technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and draft reports with recommendations to support problem resolution and engineering capability improvement. Be familiar with the design of Power and Propulsion systems, delivering solutions that meet customer requirements throughout all phases of the shipbuilding cycle.
