We are currently seeking a driven and enthusiastic
Graduate Civil Engineer
to join a well-established subcontractor operating within the residential groundworks sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their engineering career within a fast-paced, site-based environment.
About the Role:
You will be based in Derby but will work across multiple live residential sites. Reporting to the Site Engineer and Project Manager, you will assist in the delivery of groundwork packages including roads, drainage, foundations, and external works.
This hands-on role offers strong career development opportunities, with structured support and exposure to live projects from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the setting out and surveying of works using GPS and total station equipment
Assist with site supervision and quality assurance
Maintain records, site diaries, and documentation
Liaise with subcontractors and site teams
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Strong interest in groundworks and residential construction
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
