Role Summary: We are seeking a driven and technically adept EPC Project Manager to take charge of utility-scale BESS projects across the UK. This role will directly oversee the full EPC lifecycle—from engineering design reviews and procurement coordination to on-site construction delivery and handover. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing BESS projects within an EPC framework, bringing together multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment with safety, budget, and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of full-scope EPC utility-scale BESS projects from notice to proceed through to PAC.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure technical designs are constructible, compliant, and optimised for BESS.
  • Manage procurement interfaces and supplier deliverables related to balance of plant (BoP), energy storage hardware, and HV/LV infrastructure.
  • Coordinate civil and electrical construction on site, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with HSE and CDM regulations.
  • Conduct progress reviews, performance monitoring, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive project delivery using critical path method planning, proactive risk mitigation, and change management processes.
  • Serve as the primary EPC interface for clients, DNOs, and subcontractors.
  • Support commissioning, performance testing, and handover procedures to asset management and O&M teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record in delivering BESS projects within an EPC or turnkey project environment in the UK or similar markets.
  • Strong working knowledge of battery technologies, grid connection standards, and HV/LV system integration.
  • Solid understanding of UK construction practices, contract management (FIDIC or NEC), and health & safety obligations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, team leadership, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and documentation systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be open to regular travel to project sites.
