Where you fit in
As Environmental Reporting Specialist you will be critical to ensure processes are in place and followed to delivery accurate reports and data sets to our regulatory bodies and to our customers on all wastewater environmental performance areas.
You will have a strong technical understanding of our licensing / environmental permitting requirements and regulatory requirements. You will be the primary point of contact for annual and incident reporting to the Environmental Agency (EA) and will work closely with them to maintain a strong relationship.
You will be pivotal in ensuring processes and the correct level of operational awareness is in place throughout the company working with River Health, The Academy, Operational departments, and technical departments to develop clear packages of awareness training.
You will
Analyse and interpret environmental data relating to area of specialism Pollution, storm and emergency discharges (EDM), PFF, UMon, DWF and treatment works compliance
Write and submit regulatory reports and data sets to our regulatory bodies EA, DEFRA, OFWAT. (pollution, EDM, Bathing waters, DWF, PFF, Treatment works compliance)
Prepare and engage in audits for internal and external requirements on our regulatory data submissions including APR.
Utilise investigation data provided to build and submit challenge documents to our regulators on reported failures- Pollution, flow, discharges, compliance
Support technical teams with timely performance data on key environmental performance areas
What skills and qualifications you will need:
Excellent environmental compliance (knowledge, experience, passion) and previous experience working in Wastewater with process understanding and of operating within a regulated industry or framework
Able to manage conflicting priorities and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, demonstrating a flexible approach with regards to both team working and working under own initiative. Diligent and strong attention to detail, while maintaining the focus on the overall goal.
Able to create and improve processes and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and can work collaboratively. Able to influence effectively across multiple levels of the business and externally
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 2 day in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
