Environmental Monitoring Technician

SI England, part of the Igne Group of companies, is seeking to recruit an Environmental Monitoring Technician to join their team in County Durham. This is primarily a site-based role working across the UK in various weather conditions.

Key responsibilities:

1. Groundwater and gas level monitoring
2. Gas and groundwater sampling using various methods
3. Surface water sampling
4. Setting up, installing, and downloading groundwater data loggers
5. In-situ permeability testing (rising and falling)
6. Inclinometer monitoring
7. Surveying exploratory hole positions
8. Timely submission of all site information
9. Adhering to site-based health and safety requirements, safe working practices, and risk assessments

Requirements:

• Ideally, candidates will have some understanding of environmental monitoring, sampling, and in-situ testing techniques; however, full training will be provided
• Excellent communication skills
