Energy Data Scientist

Job Description

Data Scientist wanted by a global company within the short-term energy forecasting markets.

You\’ll be working across the company\’s suite of short-term forecasting tools, which have been built using a combination of machine learning, optimization, and fundamental models within the short-term trading space. The team is open to candidates from either a Data Scientist or Data Analyst background.

The team is at the forefront of the energy revolution, driving innovation to power a sustainable future by delivering reliable, affordable, and clean energy solutions while reducing environmental impact.

The business is a well-established leader in its domain. However, they prefer to keep team sizes small to allow individuals to have a significant influence on projects.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Python
• Experience with a range of ML models, e.g., TensorFlow and scikit-learn
• Commercial experience in short-term forecasting markets, such as energy, power, or financial markets
• Knowledge of GitHub or Azure DevOps (desired)
• SQL knowledge (desired)

The successful Data Scientist will earn up to £80,000, with additional benefits.
