Overview
Wing’s Technical Services Limited is a progressive and fast-growing company specialising in Facilities Management. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, we deliver reliable, compliant, and cost-effective Mechanical, Electrical and Building solutions to a varied client base across the South. We are recruiting two experienced Commercial Gas & Plumbing Engineers to support ongoing growth. The role involves carrying out a variety of planned and reactive tasks — including plumbing, heating, and gas — across domestic and commercial settings, with a focus on schools and public buildings. The position will involve working at multiple sites, mostly across Hampshire, with some early starts and a shared call-out rota (typically 1 in 4 weeks).
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive maintenance, fault finding, and plumbing/gas repairs
- Installation of pipework, water heaters, TMVs, and general plumbing systems
- Deliver PPM tasks with full documentation (servicing, valve checks, safety inspections)
- Commissioning and testing work on domestic/commercial hot water and heating systems
- Attend breakdowns, including shared 24/7 call-out rota (door-to-door pay on weekends)
- Support mechanical refurbishments (e.g., toilet block upgrades, catering areas)
- Accurate record-keeping via mobile devices/tablet software
- Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism, especially in school environments
- Work alongside electrical and mechanical teams to support wider compliance and remedial works
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a Mechanical/Plumbing discipline
- Commercial/Domestic Gas Certifications: CCN1, CENWAT, CODNCCO1, CDGA1, CIGA1 (Air Source, AC, or Electrical knowledge beneficial)
- Unvented hot water systems (G3)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in this role
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Comfortable working alone or as part of a team
- Good communication skills and confident with client interaction
- Familiarity with schools or catering environments is beneficial
- Electrical safety awareness (or competency)
- IPAF and PASMA – not essential, but beneficial
- OFTEC – not essential, but beneficial
- Experience on oil-fired systems – not essential, but beneficial
The Package
- £50,000 per year basic salary (equivalent to £24.04 per hour based on 40 hours/week)
- Plus £175 per week on-call — 1 in 4 rota
- Approx. £2,275 additional per year
- Overtime: Time and a half after 6:00pm Mon–Fri; Time and a half on Saturdays up to 12:00pm; Double time after 12:00pm Saturdays and all-day Sundays
- Call-outs paid door-to-door (weekends and out-of-hours)

Working Times and Additional Pay Enhancements
You are expected to be on site by 8:00am each day. Occasionally, earlier starts (e.g., 6:00am) may be required depending on site or client needs. Time and a half for hours after 6:00pm Monday to Friday; Time and a half on Saturdays up to 12:00pm; Double time for hours after 12:00pm on Saturdays and all-day Sunday. Call-outs (weekends or out-of-hours) are paid door-to-door.
