Are you passionate about sustainability and innovation in materials science? Do you thrive on taking ideas from lab-scale experiments to real-world manufacturing? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity to advance your career and make a tangible impact.
A leading innovator in sustainable materials is looking for a Chemical Engineer / Scale-Up Engineer to join their forward-thinking R&D team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in chemical or process engineering who is excited to work on the cutting edge of regenerative, low-carbon textile solutions.
As a key member of the R&D team, you’ll be responsible for scaling up new processes and products from the laboratory through pilot trials and into full-scale manufacturing. Your work will directly contribute to the development of next-generation sustainable materials that reduce environmental impact and reshape the future of textiles.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the scale-up of novel processes and products, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth transition from concept to commercialisation.
- Optimise process parameters, manage projects, troubleshoot operational challenges, and collaborate with suppliers and academic institutions to co-develop scalable and sustainable manufacturing solutions.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure efficient technology transfer and successful integration into manufacturing environments.
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Process Engineering, ideally with a focus on process development or scale-up. You’ll have up to three years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or scale-up roles, and bring a practical, data-driven approach to problem-solving. Your ability to interpret technical results, refine processes, and work collaboratively in a research and development setting will be essential.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in North Cambridgeshire, offering a competitive salary of £30,000 to £40,000, plus a 10% annual bonus. You’ll also receive 25 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), along with a comprehensive benefits package. Additional perks include professional development opportunities, team wellbeing initiatives, and the chance to be part of a mission-driven company shaping the future of sustainable manufacturing.
