Our client, a well-established and growing consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in Highways and Drainage design, who enjoys a hands-on, project-focused role, balanced with technical leadership and client liaison responsibilities.

About the Role

  • Lead and support the delivery of Highways and Drainage design projects.
  • Mentor and guide graduate engineers and technicians across multiple office locations.
  • Manage multiple clients and projects, ensuring deliverables meet technical standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with Directors to support business development, improve design quality, and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality procedures.

About You

  • You are a Chartered Engineer (CIWEM, ICE or CIHT) with a minimum of five years' experience in Highways and Drainage design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Causeway Flow (or equivalent design software).
  • Experience with detailed calculations, sketches, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of adoptable infrastructure standards including Section 38, 104, and 278.
  • Familiarity with CIRIA guidance, BRE digests, BS EN752, and Design and Construction Guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in stakeholder and client engagement.
  • Commercial awareness relating to budgeting, costing, and quotations.
