My client, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced and driven Associate or Associate Director Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to work on a diverse and technically challenging range of civil engineering projects.
The Associate Civil Engineer will be instrumental in delivering innovative highway and drainage solutions, leading high-profile projects from concept through to completion. This is a key strategic hire where you'll manage projects, mentor engineers, support business development, and contribute to the leadership of a growing civil engineering division.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of highways and drainage schemes (concept to construction)
- Produce and oversee technical designs, drawings, and calculations (QBar, attenuation, soakaway, network analysis)
- Prepare and manage S104, S106, S185, S184, S278, and S38 applications
- Write and review technical reports such as Flood Risk Assessments, Transport Statements, and Drainage Strategies
- Provide technical and line management support to a team of engineers and technicians
- Ensure quality, time, and budgetary targets are met across all assigned projects
- Collaborate with directors on business development, work winning, and client engagement
- Promote sustainable design solutions in line with BREEAM and CDM regulations
- Act as a technical leader and key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
- BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
- Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE or equivalent)
- At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering
- Proven expertise in highway and drainage design and relevant software tools
- Confident leader with strong communication and project management skills
- Experience in mentoring junior team members and line management
- Commercially aware and capable of supporting work-winning activity
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
