As an experienced and proactive Senior Network Design Engineer you will manage implementation activities for our global IP MPLS backbone and edge devices, ensuring all resources meet current and future customer needs in alignment with engineering guidelines. You will generate detailed designs and collaborate with crossâfunctional teams to manage implementation projects, maintain optimal network capacity, and drive process simplification through automation.
What you\âll do
Receive detailed requirements for technology, topology, and capacity upgrades.
Translate requirements into lowâlevel designs and deployment plans.
Order, receive, and implement equipment and connectivity.
Manage customs, brokerage, and financials.
Prepare handâoff material for execution by operations.
Work with internal and external organizations, including telecoms, equipment and installation vendors, Network Operations, Field Services, Service Delivery, Planning and Capacity Management.
Collaborate within a global, multicultural team spread across 24 time zones.
Take ownership of project deliverables, including capital and expense budgets.
Cover working time: EMEA with flexibility.
What you\âll need
Handsâon experience with network design and implementation within large service provider networks.
Solid understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networks, including routers and switches (Cisco IOS XR JunOS).
Ability to broadly understand network routing protocols and translate engineering guidelines and highâlevel designs into effective lowâlevel designs and project plans.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, coding, and handsâon experience with automation tools and processes.
Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and recommendations.
Collaborative attitude and a proactive, canâdo approach to problemâsolving.
What you\âll bring
Around 5+ years\â experience in a large telco/enterprise/service provider environment.
Inâdepth knowledge of IP, MPLS, LAN and WAN technologies in a service provider environment.
Professional level Cisco or Juniper certification, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience.
