At ATS Global, we are looking for a Controls & Automation Engineer to join our growing automation team. You will work closely with customers and colleagues across the business, delivering automation solutions for both existing and new customers.
This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle β from pre-sales and solution design through development, configuration, testing and commissioning.
What will you do?
As a Controls & Automation Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop and configure automation solutions for industrial customers.
- Support projects from pre-sales and technical concept through to commissioning.
- Work with automation platforms such as Siemens or Rockwell.
- Develop and work with SCADA systems, with experience in FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition or Wonderware being an advantage.
- Work with automation hardware, including VSDs and control panels.
- Contribute to control system design, testing and technical documentation.
- Deliver small to medium-sized automation projects while keeping quality, deadlines and customer expectations in focus.
- Work closely with our Business Development and Engineering teams to understand customer challenges and develop the right technical solutions.
- Build strong relationships with customers and become a trusted technical partner.
- Identify opportunities to further develop solutions and services for our customers.
- Continuously expand your knowledge of automation, IT and manufacturing technologies.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a practical, customer-focused mindset.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant engineering qualification and/or practical engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Siemens or Rockwell automation systems.
- Experience with SCADA technologies.
- Knowledge of functional safety systems.
- Experience with automation hardware such as VSDs and control panels.
- Experience delivering automation projects from design through commissioning.
- The ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and confidently.
- A structured and self-organised approach to your work.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- A willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.
- A proactive, motivated attitude and a genuine desire to succeed.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, including internationally when required.
- A valid driving licence.
