European Applications Specialist
Job Description
SP, part of the ATS Group, is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled European Applications Specialist to support and promote the Genevac vacuum concentrator system across Europe, primarily based in the UK, Germany, France, or nearby countries. There is also potential to support in Asia.
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in chemistry or life sciences, preferably holding a PhD, who is passionate about translating complex technical knowledge into practical solutions for customers. The role requires regular travel to client sites, industry events, and internal meetings to provide subject matter expertise, support strategic initiatives, and foster strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Genevac vacuum concentrator systems across Europe
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams
- Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical seminars
- Collaborate with R&D and product management to relay customer feedback and contribute to product development
- Assist in developing application notes, white papers, and technical marketing materials
- Attend and present at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies
Additional Information
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related field (Masters degree with significant experience may be considered)
- Hands-on experience with vacuum concentrators, rotary evaporators, or similar laboratory instrumentation
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe (up to 50%)
- Based in the UK, France, Germany, or neighboring countries with easy access to major transportation hubs

- Experience in technical sales or customer-facing roles
- Familiarity with sample preparation workflows in pharmaceutical, biotech, or academic research settings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional international team
