The Opportunity
Atrom Mindcare is building the next generation of mental healthcare delivery. We're a UK based Mental Healthcare provider operating at the intersection of NHS, insurance, and private care, with a clear thesis: that mental healthcare can be delivered more thoughtfully, more efficiently, and at a higher quality than the legacy systems most of the sector still relies on. We're now looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to help us build the platform that makes this possible.
What we are building
We're on a mission to make the patient journey smoother and swifter while also enabling the clinicians to be able to make full use of technology to deliver high standards of care - a unified seamless platform that:
- Handles the full referral lifecycle from intake to clinical decision
- Uses AI thoughtfully β to augment clinical and administrative judgement, not replace it
- Maintains rigorous audit trails and meets the highest standards of healthcare data protection
- Integrates with existing (internal and external) clinical systems rather than replacing them
- Scales as we grow without losing the careful clinical attention that defines good mental healthcare
Some foundational work is already in place. The next phase needs someone who can take this from "good start" to "real platform."
The Role
You'll be the senior technical voice at Atrom β owning the architecture, leading the build, and shaping where the platform goes next. This isn't a job where someone hands you a detailed spec. It's a role where you help define what we're building, then make it real. Your work will include:
- Architecture and direction β making the strategic technical decisions that determine what's possible
- Hands-on delivery β you'll build significant components yourself, not just direct others
- Quality and standards β establishing how we build, test, secure, and ship
- Healthcare context β understanding what makes clinical software different from generic SaaS
- Working with founders β directly with the CEO (operational strategy) and Clinical Director (medical reality)
You'll inherit some good foundations: existing infrastructure, a working prototype, clear strategic direction. What you bring is the experience to make this into a platform that genuinely changes how mental healthcare is delivered.
What we are looking for
You're probably right for this if:
- You've delivered platform-scale software before (not just features within someone else's platform)
- You're comfortable with Microsoft Power Platform, Azure services, and modern integration architectures β or you've built equivalent capability on adjacent stacks and are happy moving into ours
- You understand AI as a tool you've actually deployed in production, not a buzzword
- You have an instinct for security, privacy, and audit β particularly in regulated contexts
- You write code well and lead other engineers well
- You communicate clearly in writing (we're remote-async-first)
- You're drawn to mission-driven work β mental healthcare isn't an industry you stumble into
You're probably not right for this if:
- You're looking for a defined task list and step-by-step directions
- You want to be insulated from the business or clinical context
- Healthcare regulation feels like a hassle rather than something to engineer around respectfully
- You'd rather work on consumer apps or enterprise SaaS where the stakes are lower
What we offer
- Competitive salary β we'll match the market for the right person at this level
- Real ownership β of the technical direction, not just the codebase
- Direct work with the founders β no layers, no committees
- Genuine impact β what you build affects real patients and clinicians
- Remote-first flexibility β work when and where you work best
- Modern stack β Azure, Power Platform, OpenAI, current tooling
- Growth opportunity β as Atrom grows, this role grows with it
About Atrom Mindcare
We were founded in 2023 by Amrish Gupta (CEO) and Dr Aarohee Desai-Gupta (Clinical Director, Consultant Psychiatrist). We specialise in outpatient mental health, including ADHD and ASD assessment and treatment, delivered through both NHS Right to Choose and private channels. We're growing rapidly, operating in a market where demand vastly outstrips quality supply, and we're investing in our platform because we believe technology done right is how mental healthcare moves forward. We're small enough that you'll see your work matter, structured enough that you'll have what you need to do your best work, and ambitious enough that this is a meaningful career move for the right person.
