We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Associate Specialist Grade General Adult Psychiatrist to join our growing service. The post-holder will work primarily on-site and contribute to both NHS and private services, with opportunities to develop specialist skills in neurodevelopmental psychiatry and interventional treatments.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary setting, undertaking comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatment for adults with mental health conditions. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Adult ADHD and ASD diagnostic assessments
- Prescribing and managing ADHD medication under titration pathways
- Delivering interventional treatments such as Deep rTMS for treatment-resistant depression and OCD
The role involves active participation in MDT meetings, clinical supervision, service development, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists standards, while contributing to clinical governance, appraisal, and revalidation processes.

This post is to recruit for the growing demand for its Adult ADHD and ASD pathway under NHS Right to Choose to deliver evidence-based care to adults with ADHD. Our vision is to ensure timely, high-quality assessments and person-centred treatment pathways for all service users.
Job responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Conduct Adult ADHD assessments for NHS patients referred via the Right to Choose (RTC) pathway
- Prescribe and manage medication for ADHD under the titration pathway, where clinically indicated
- Undertake Adult ASD diagnostic assessments in line with recognised standards
- Deliver Deep rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) using BrainsWay technology for private patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred psychiatric care in line with GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists guidance
Multidisciplinary & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in MDT meetings, case discussions and service development
- Engage in clinical supervision, annual appraisals, and revalidation processes
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (with administrative burden minimised through Heidi AI)
- Contribute to a culture of learning, quality improvement and clinical governance
Person Specification
Qualifications
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high standards of clinical care and patient safety
- Interest in interventional psychiatry or neuromodulation treatments
- Section 12 approval (or willingness to obtain)
Experience
- Experience working in General Adult Psychiatry
- Competence in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and medication management
- Experience in Adult ADHD and/or ASD assessments
- Experience prescribing ADHD medications
