Job Summary Obtain blood and other non-blood specimens from patients, deliver samples to the laboratory, and provide accurate information about laboratory tests according to standard procedures. Responsibilities may vary based on site needs. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC) from an accredited institution or recognized equivalent. Evaluation required for non-U.S. diplomas. CPR and Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred. Graduation from a Phlebotomy technical training program strongly preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred. Experience & Skills Up to 1 year of medical practice experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation required. Proficiency with Lab Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
