Role
We are looking for an experienced accountant operating within the Lloyd's market to join our finance team to take ownership of developing financial and regulatory returns for our associated entities.
Description
- Review of complex accounting transactions.
- Review of changes to accounting standards and assessment of the impact on all group company financial statements.
- Produce technical accounting papers to support the accounting treatment of complex transactions and changes to US and UK accounting standards.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with relevant accounting standards under both UK and US GAAP (where relevant).
- Accounting for Lloyd’s corporate member with multiple Syndicate participations and quota-share reinsurance arrangements.
- Comprehensive understanding and ownership of the Atrium Group’s accounting for employee compensation arrangements, including equity awards and profit share calculations.
- Collaborate with the wider Atrium Group Reporting team to understand the transactions within the ledgers and ensure smooth monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Contribute to the monthly reporting to US parent company, with timely completion of financial reporting and analysis of coverholder results.
- Preparation of the quarterly consolidation for the Northshore Group.
- Preparation of quarterly consolidated board packs for the Northshore Group.
- Analysis and interpretation of results, presenting findings, and reporting to management.
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts for in-house coverholder and Lloyd’s corporate member.
- Review of quarterly management accounts for various Atrium group subsidiary entities.
- Delivery of statutory accounts for in-house coverholder and Lloyd’s corporate member.
Management
- Line manager responsibilities.
- Responsible for training, developing, and reviewing work, conducting regular performance evaluations, and ensuring timely, high-quality completion of tasks and achievement of development goals.
Audit & Compliance
- Maintain the relationship with the external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements with prompt and accurate delivery of audit requests.
- Adhere to Atrium Group internal control requirements.
Project Work
- Assist with ad hoc project work, for example changes to reporting requirements and process arising from the integration with the CRC Group parent company.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Qualified Accountant.
- Prior experience of accounting for compensation packages and profit-sharing arrangements.
- Detailed knowledge of UK GAAP (US GAAP would be an asset).
- Knowledge of Bermuda Regulatory Requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and corporate member reporting preferred.
- Ability to interpret transactional level technical data.
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- IT Skills – Microsoft office products, CODA, Cubes, Workiva, Workday, automation tools.
