We have an exciting new opportunity for a Risk and Controls Analyst to be responsible for supporting the Group Head of Controls in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across key business processes. As a Risk and Controls Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Group Head of Controls in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across key business processes.
  • Strengthening the control environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations (FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s of London), and supporting the delivery of insights to senior management.
  • Working closely with business teams to monitor controls and support risk reports within the Enterprise Risk and Control Management Framework.
  • Contributing to the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA).
  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the controls framework, including helping the business to identify and design effective and efficient controls.
  • Developing and maintaining associated control testing plans and conducting independent control tests and thematic reviews.
  • Executing the Risk & Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) process, including risk identification, assessment, and control evaluation.
  • Assisting with the effective operation of the Atrium risk governance processes, including production of meeting papers and attending committees and taking minutes.
  • Supporting wider Risk and Control projects and deliverables as required.
  • Ensuring Lloyd’s Principles for doing business are adhered to.
  • Liaising with the wider business to help further embed a positive risk culture.

Experience in risk management, internal controls, or internal audit within financial services (banking, insurance, asset management, etc.) is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends are required. Good knowledge of Operational Risk and what makes an effective control environment is necessary. Excellent IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft Office to produce reports and analyse data, are also important. A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred.
