This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our US General Liability team, working closely with underwriting management to support portfolio growth and performance.
Role:
- Receive new business & renewal submissions from brokers and underwriters which need to be processed.
- Support Underwriters in the renewing of policies, this may include claims analysis, and pre-bind pricing work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to ensure smooth communication and optimal service delivery.
- On occasion, specific reports or management information may be required by Underwriters or Managers, be prepared to produce such information upon request.
- Develop positive relationships across the underwriting teams, and wider departments such as Pricing, Compliance and Claims.
- Champion continuous improvements and continually work with the team to improve end to end process, data and data warehouse.
- Broker and client meetings as required.
- Apply appropriate risk management practices including aggregations and guideline controls.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous experience in an Underwriting support role with knowledge of the Liability classes.
- Experience of liaising with Brokers.
- Developing knowledge of the standards and rules of the regulatory bodies and those set out in the firm’s standards documents.
- Knowledge of the types of business transacted by the syndicate.
- Ability to achieve ACII.
