Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager/Project Manager for a freelance/contract position on a premium industrial unit build. This role will involve overseeing all internal and external works, including landscaping and external car park construction, for a large industrial unit. The project is expected to run for 45 to 52 weeks, offering a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. We are looking for a strong, hands-on individual with extensive civils and groundworks experience, capable of managing the entire project from the ground up. You will also need some experience in project management to effectively coordinate the site, manage subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise all trades and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities on site, from the groundworks stage through to completion, including landscaping and external car park construction.
- Ensure all civil and groundworks are executed to the highest standard, managing all earthworks, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure.
- Monitor project progress, liaise with the project team, and report to senior management regularly.
- Ensure compliance with planning, environmental, and health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with architects, quantity surveyors, and the client to ensure design and specification requirements are met.
- Contribute to value engineering and cost control efforts to optimize project delivery.
- Manage and drive project timelines and ensure the project is running efficiently, with a focus on maintaining the highest quality standards.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager with a strong focus on civils/groundworks and industrial/commercial construction.
- Hands-on experience working from the ground up, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, and all external works.
- Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage site operations, subcontractors, and resources efficiently.
- Ability to oversee both the internal and external construction elements of a large industrial project, including landscaping and car park construction.
- Strong leadership skills, with a hands-on approach and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and site management best practices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
