We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistants (SHCAs) to join our agency workforce in Bridlington area. This role offers flexible working opportunities across a variety of healthcare settings, including care homes, nursing homes and supported living services. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting clinical teams, promoting service users' well-being, and assisting with the supervision of care assistants on the shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service users with daily activities and well-being in line with care plans
  • Assist with nutrition and hydration support, including meal preparation and encouragement
  • Monitor and record vital signs (e.g. temperature, pulse, weight) where required
  • Support service users with medication in line with training and policies
  • Promote independence, dignity, and respect at all times
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Supervise and support healthcare assistants and new staff members
  • Liaise effectively with nurses, healthcare professionals, and families
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control policies

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant
  • Experience administering medication to service users and use of MAR chart
  • Relevant qualification desired (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent)
  • Competency in manual handling, safeguarding, and basic life support
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
