Atrium Healthcare is seeking a cook with previous experience within a care home setting to support our client based in Driffield. The ideal candidate will have a drive and passion for cooking nutritious and delicious meals for our clients' residents as well as leading a small kitchen team. We believe that great food is an essential part of residents' well-being, and as a cook you will play a vital role in ensuring they receive nutritious, appetising meals whilst meeting varying dietary requirements of residents.

The job role will entail the following tasks:

  • Complete a food shop. (Site will confirm if needed)
  • Planning a weekly hot food menu, to include a vegetarian/vegan option (must ask service users for opinions on meals they enjoy)
  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food
  • Listening and acting on feedback
  • Kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
  • Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a similar setting (preferably in a care home, hospital, or senior living facility).
  • Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary requirements for the elderly.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively.
  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of the residents.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications are a plus but not mandatory.
