Position Overview: We are seeking a Solutions Architect with deep experience in Azure infrastructure design, hands-on infrastructure-as-code (IaC) skills, and DevSecOps methodologies to support Defence-oriented technology deployments and cutting-edge platform integrations. You will play a key role in designing, deploying, and optimising secure, scalable and resilient cloud environments, while integrating novel technologies into production systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape mission-driven systems architecture and collaborate with global multidisciplinary teams supporting national security programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and plan scalable, secure, performative modular Azure Landing Zone solutions.
- Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure solutions using IaC (e.g., Bicep, Terraform).
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft Landing Zone concepts and supporting documentation.
- Integrate emerging and novel technologies (e.g., mobile platforms, geospatial analytics, zero-trust architectures) into legacy or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Optimise infrastructure performance, scalability and cost through continuous monitoring and capacity planning.
- Work with third-party vendors and Defence partners, ensuring integrations and deliverables meet program-specific requirements.
- Document infrastructure architecture, standards and procedures to support knowledge transfer and audit readiness.
Required Expertise:
- Hands-on experience in Azure Cloud Architecture, Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Azure Engineering, DevOps.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools e.g., Terraform, or Bicep (Optional Pulumi).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Gitlab CI/CD, or (Optional Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including VPNs, firewalls, routing/switching.
- Proficiency with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Azure Containers, Docker).
- Proven scripting experience with PowerShell, Linux-based environments, and Ansible.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, documentation discipline and the ability to work independently and within agile teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting Defence, intelligence, or government clients, particularly in secure or classified environments.
