Unit Description
Group Buyer Underwriting (GBU) is a central support department serving worldwide Risk Services units and their multiple country operations, and the Chief Risk Officer.
GBU´s mission is to ensure that our worldwide buyer underwriting practices are aligned with our corporate targets and delivers a high quality service to all customers
The key roles of GBU are
- Advice and management information to support steering of Risk Services strategy
- Provide Risk Services with tools, business information and system support to execute underwriting strategies
- Financial planning for Risk Services and the CRO
- Lead and participate in cross-functional innovation projects to help achieve corporate objectives
We are looking for someone who
- Has an interest, knowledge and/or experience in the business information sector
- Is adept at understanding and meeting customer needs, building relationships with strong communication skills paired with a keen understanding of operations, data and technology
- Will develop relationships with business information suppliers including negotiation of terms and service agreements at country, regional or worldwide level
- Has strong inter-personal and negotiation skills, enjoys working with collaborating within a dedicated Information Procurement team
Job Description
Your main responsibilities are to
- Ensure the supply of all Business Information for Risk Services/Credit risk underwriting in global markets
- Negotiate and contracts with suppliers (existing and new) on an ongoing basis and keeps up-to-date on new services and providers that are available in the market, including open source data and technology tools.
- Conduct market reviews to benchmark information products on the area of responsibility
- Achieve cost-quality-coverage-speed balance to ensure value for money information services are delivered across the Company.
- Be actively involved in developing and maintaining procurement guidelines and tender procedures.
- Optimise information procurement procedures and the on-going review and improvement of those procedures.
- Check receipt of purchased services and goods and finally, authorises payment in co-operation with the Finance Departments.
- Share own interest in new and emerging technologies with a view to how these may be implemented to improve our information services
- Consider automation possibilities in all activities, including contracted services, delivery methods and supplier selection
