Summary
The ATP is seeking an ATP Challenger Marketing Specialist to support the planning, creation and distribution of digital content across the ATP Challenger ecosystem, with added support for the Challenger Tour’s marketing budget, resourcing and campaign forward-planning.
Working across editorial, social media and digital marketing, the role will help tell the stories of ATP Challenger while supporting the growth of its players, tournaments and audiences globally.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong tennis knowledge, excellent editorial instincts and a passion for digital content.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, the successful candidate will coordinate day-to-day content operations across ATP Challenger digital platforms and help manage the Tour’s annual marketing budget and resourcing, helping deliver engaging coverage throughout the season while supporting tournaments, players and internal stakeholders.
This role will require attendance at the ATP’s London office in Wimbledon.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Social Media
- Schedule, publish and optimise social media content across Instagram, X, Tik Tok, Facebook and You Tube.
- Monitor tournaments and support live content production through clipping, basic video editing and real-time publishing.
- Support on-site content production at selected ATP Challenger events as required.
- Editorial
- Write and edit accurate, engaging match reports, player features, tournament previews and other editorial content.
- Produce and publish photo galleries, player updates, rankings stories and other editorial features.
- Able to curate and edit automated content for the Challenger website and other digital touchpoints; investigate feasibility and support implementation of data-driven articles.
- Assist with website content management, ensuring player and tournament information remains accurate and up to date.
- Support the creation of website-optimised video content, including highlights, archive features and promotional assets.
- Digital Marketing
- Coordinate the day-to-day publishing of content across ATP Challenger digital channels, including the Challenger website, ATP Tour platforms and social media accounts.
- Travel to selected ATP Challenger events throughout the season to oversee the planning, capture and delivery of on-site digital content.
- Coordinate content requests from Challenger tournaments and players, ensuring assets are delivered accurately and on time.
- Research social and content trends, recommending new ideas and formats that resonate with tennis audiences.
- Organise and maintain digital content libraries and archive assets.
- Supports ATP Challenger Department in branding approvals process.
- Coordinates PR and STARS support for key tournament weeks throughout the year.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as required by the Manager, Digital Marketing
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge and passion for professional tennis, particularly the ATP Challenger Tour.
- Experience creating and publishing digital content across websites and social media platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong editorial judgement.
- Understanding of social media best practices, audience development and emerging digital trends.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
- Experience managing budgets and third-party resources, including coordinating with Legal on contract terms.
- Basic understanding of CMS platforms and digital publishing workflows.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting social and digital performance data.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across a global team.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and travel internationally during key tournaments when required.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Sports Management, Communications or a related discipline preferred.
