The Director, Sporting & Commercial Analytics will lead the creation and expansion of the ATP’s analytics capabilities and help to shape the future of tennis through data-driven decision-making. The position requires deep analytical expertise, strong leadership, a hands-on mindset and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and clear narratives for senior management. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President, Strategy & Analytics. The position is based in London to optimise coordination and workflow with key stakeholders but will work remotely with teams based around the world.
Responsibilities
- Act as the figurehead for Analytics at the ATP Tour across sporting and commercial.
- Lead the execution of the wider Data & Analytics strategy alongside the Technology team.
- Act as the figurehead for ATP Tour’s approach to AI, helping to drive company-wide adoption.
- Establish and enhance regular reporting frameworks for senior management.
- Lead and deliver high-impact, reactive and proactive analysis.
- Use advanced analytics & ML to draw insight from large datasets & model future scenarios.
- Develop and implement scalable data cleaning, transformation and analysis pipelines.
- Expand data visualisation and self-service dashboard capabilities to empower stakeholders.
- Serve as a key liaison with internal departments, external partners & global stakeholders.
- Support budgeting and forecasting of the department, ensuring Analytics investments are linked to clear business outcomes.
- Other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of experience in analytics or data science.
- Experience managing and integrating large, complex datasets.
- Strong data manipulation skills and proficient use of AI / ML tools.
- Technology-agnostic and comfortable working in a modular environment.
- Proven ability to build high-quality dashboards and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex analytics to non-technical stakeholders with clarity.
- Strong methodological rigor, data integrity practices, and attention to detail.
- Success in building analytics capabilities in lean environments, working with autonomy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with changing priorities.
- Proven ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner, taking end-to-end ownership of analytical problems from concept through to delivery.
- Experience in sports, media & entertainment preferred; passion for tennis is advantageous.
Travel Requirements
- Available to travel on average 1 week per quarter, if required.
