The Director, Tour Development plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the key projects and operational initiatives that enhance the Sporting side of the ATP, focusing primarily across player and tournament engagement across the ATP Tour. This position requires a visionary and results-oriented professional with the ability to translate high-level organizational goals into actionable outcomes. The Director is responsible for aligning tour development objectives with ATP’s broader mission and vision, ensuring long-term growth, innovation, and sustainability across the global tennis landscape. With a connection across multiple departments within the Sporting Division, the Director will lead cross-functional collaboration, long-term planning, drive innovation in tour structure and performance tools, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Set and evolve the overarching vision for Tour Development programs, ensuring alignment with ATP’s broader Sporting Division goals.
- Lead and mentor direct reports and cross-functional teams across multiple departments within the Sporting Division.
- Lead the identification, development, and implementation of new initiatives to enhance player and tournament engagement across all levels of the Tour.
- Shape policies and frameworks that foster innovation, sustainability, and competitive excellence in professional tennis.
- Serve as a key liaison with internal departments, external partners, and global stakeholders to advance tour initiatives.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of impactful presentations and reports to ATP leadership, the Board, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop compelling analysis and project manage key programmes for the Players and Tournaments of the ATP.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of tour development projects.
- Drive change management initiatives to improve operational efficiency and adaptability.
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics across initiatives, using data-driven insights to inform decisions and evaluate the success of strategic initiatives and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in sports development, operations, or strategic program leadership, ideally in a global or high-performance sports setting.
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior-level decision-making.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects with measurable impact.
- Advanced skillset in analysis and data consumption to provide solutions to challenging topics.
- Strong understanding of the International Sporting Business matters.
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Sports Management, or related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with professional tennis and tour operations is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with changing priorities.
