Role Purpose: The primary role of the Assistant Producer, 250s tournaments, will be to manage the production of our 250s tournaments from our Broadcast Hub, based at Westworks, White City. The role will oversee the commentary team, organising shifts and feeding back on editorial, producing the graphics and liaising with the on-site team to ensure the host broadcaster follows the ATP Media running order. The role will also include travel to tournaments to learn the on-site aspect of the 250s production, where the individual will liaise key stakeholders such as Tournaments, the ATP, and the Host Broadcaster to ensure the quality of the broadcast output meets the ATP Media standards, and represent the broadcaster needs in the scheduling of matches. We are looking for a dynamic and positive individual to work in the 250s team predominantly, while also working within the wider production team contributing and supporting in the production of the ATP Masters 1000 and ATP 500 tournaments where necessary.

Duties and Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the pre-production and live production of multiple ATP 250 tournaments
  • Liaising with the ATP and tournaments regarding match scheduling and TV coverage standards
  • Assisting host broadcasters to standardise and improve coverage across all ATP 250 tournaments
  • Working with the ATP Media Broadcast and Engineering departments to ensure the successful global delivery of matches
  • Working in ATP Media’s Production Hub in West London, using Simply Live’s Vibox to add graphics and commentary to produce the international feed
  • Basic editing of match feeds using the ViBox to produce news packages and social media content
  • Managing and producing the commentary team in the production hub
  • Maintaining communication with our international broadcasters ensuring updates and information relating to tournaments reaches them
  • Managing the upload and delivery of post-match deliverable assets to clients
  • Travelling to ATP 250 tournaments to represent ATP Media’s interests and act as main liaison onsite with the tournament, ATP Tour and host broadcaster
  • Overseeing the technical delivery distribution of TV feeds from site using LiveU and working with our dedicated in-house engineering team to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during a tournament
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and freelance crew
  • Assisting in the production of ATP 500 and Master 1000 tournaments where required

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with Senior Edit Producer to create threads and VT Inserts for the World Feed
  • Supporting the wider production team in the overall preparation and management of ATP 250s, ATP 500s and ATP Masters 1000 tournaments

Qualifications:

  • Live gallery and production experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Experience working in a live OB environment
  • Experience in Broadcast Venue Managing
  • An understanding of live gallery and outside broadcast workflows
  • Ability to work calmly under the pressures of a live environment
  • 3-5 years experience in the television industry

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge of tennis and passion for live sports broadcasting
  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders
  • Knowledge and prior use of ViBox and gallery desk preferable (training can be provided)
  • Experience working with a host broadcaster
  • Experience working in an edit suite – including Premiere Pro, IP Director

The 250s Assistant Producer Role during tournaments will be based at our remote production hub ATP Media Studios in White City. There will be a significant amount of working hours across multiple time zones, overnight and at weekends. There will be overseas travel to tournaments circa 70 days a year.

Working Hours: Mon – Fri 9am to 5.00pm plus evenings and weekends in line with tournaments. Please note some tournaments will require working overnights due to different time zones. Flexible working and time off in lieu for weekends worked are part of ATP Media’s company policy.
