Role Purpose
Located at ATP Media’s Wimbledon office as part of the Technology Services team, and reporting into the Director of Technology. The Broadcast Technology Manager supports the smooth technical operation of ATP Media’s UK based facilities, helping ensure reliable delivery of live match coverage, remote production workflows, and multiplatform content distribution. This role is hands on, operational, and focused on maintaining systems, supporting productions, and ensuring technical readiness across all broadcast activities.
Duties And Key Responsibilities
- Technical Operations
- Support the day-to-day running of ATP Media’s UK broadcast infrastructure and work closely with technical facilities providers and suppliers.
- Assist with the technical delivery of live ATP Tour events produced from the UK hub, ensuring stable connectivity with global venues.
- Monitor and maintain broadcast quality across live feeds, world feeds, digital streams, and supporting content.
- Systems Maintenance & Setup
- Maintain and configure broadcast equipment, including routing systems, audio/video hardware, intercom, monitoring, and contribution paths.
- Support IP based and remote production workflows used across ATP Tour events.
- Carry out routine checks, preventative maintenance, and equipment setup to ensure operational readiness.
- Production Support
- Work closely with production and operations teams to prepare technical requirements for tournaments.
- Align with the production and operations teams to assist with future technical innovations and integrations.
- Assist with prevent technical planning, including line tests, connectivity checks, and equipment preparation.
- Provide hands-on technical support during live broadcasts, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Proactively report issues and faults post-event to the management and senior management teams.
- Workflow Improvement & Technology Adoption
- Identify opportunities to improve technical workflows and operational efficiency.
- Support the rollout of new tools, systems, and processes across ATP Media’s technical environment.
- Help train production staff on equipment use and best practices.
- Vendor Coordination
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers for equipment servicing, repairs, and support.
- Assist with coordination between ATP Media and global tournament venues on technical requirements and connectivity.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and equipment inventories.
- Collaborative Working
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to ensure successful implementation of new technical deployments.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout the business to gather requirements and feedback for future projects.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to promote understanding and alignment during project planning and execution.
- Support ongoing collaboration to adapt and optimise technical solutions according to business needs.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Experience in broadcast engineering or technical operations, ideally within live sports and remote production.
- Strong understanding of signal flow, control room operations, and broadcast equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues calmly and efficiently during live events.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and production teams.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Able to travel to tournaments and industry events as required.
Preferred
- Experience with IP based production systems, remote contribution, or cloud based workflows.
- Familiarity with live sports environments, particularly tennis or multivenue events.
- Understanding of streaming technologies and multiplatform distribution.
