1. Prevent Issues Before They Impact the Business: As a Capacity Manager, you work proactively rather than reactively. You'll identify capacity constraints, performance risks, and future demand trends before they affect critical services, helping customers maintain service stability and resilience.
2. Influence Strategic Planning and Business Growth: The role provides visibility across infrastructure, applications, and business demand. You'll work with technical and operational teams to forecast growth, shape investment decisions, and ensure services can meet future business requirements.
3. Drive Service Resilience Across Complex Environments: You'll play a key role during major incidents and recovery activities by assessing capacity impacts, supporting resilience planning, and ensuring services can recover and scale effectively in complex enterprise environments.
Purpose: Ensure sufficient IT service capacity is available to meet current and forecast business demand while minimizing the risk of service degradation or outages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor service, infrastructure, and application capacity trends.
- Identify capacity constraints and risks before they impact service.
- Coordinate capacity planning across technical teams.
- Assess the impact of major incidents on service capacity and resilience.
- Support recovery planning during major incidents where capacity or performance is affected.
- Provide demand forecasting and growth planning.
- Escalate capacity-related risks to operational and leadership teams.
- Maintain capacity reports, dashboards, and improvement plans.
