The R&D Engineering Lead is a senior technical leader within the Global ServiceNow Portfolio organisation, reporting directly to the CTO / Portfolio Lead. This role is responsible for driving engineering-led innovation, building next-generation accelerators, architecting cutting-edge GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities, and supporting the creation of differentiated IP for Atos’ global ServiceNow business.
The R&D Engineering Lead works collaboratively with Portfolio Directors and Value Engineering Directors to translate portfolio strategy and industry needs into high-value engineering outputs—prototypes, accelerators, integrations, tools, and technical proofs-of-concept that strengthen Atos’ competitive edge.
This is a highly hands-on, innovation-focused leadership role that combines platform engineering excellence with strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive the technical innovation engine for the global ServiceNow business, aligned to portfolio strategy.
- Lead R&D initiatives exploring GenAI, Agentic AI, automation, integration patterns, and emerging ServiceNow capabilities.
- Strengthen Atos’ positioning with ServiceNow through technical excellence, joint innovation, and prototype delivery.
- Enable faster time-to-market for global offerings through engineering velocity and reusable asset development.
- Translate future-looking technology trends into actionable engineering solutions.
- Identify emerging technologies, ServiceNow releases, and ecosystem opportunities to shape next-gen solutions.
- Partner with the CTO on strategic bets and long-term capability building.
AI Engineering & Next-Generation Solutions
- Lead engineering design and development of: Accelerator, Framework, and Asset Development.
- Architect and oversee development of reusable assets such as Reference implementations.
- Ensure all assets follow engineering best practices, are production-grade, and integrate into delivery methodologies.
- Lead technical PoCs for ServiceNow modules, AI capabilities, platform extensions, and ecosystem technologies.
- Partner with Alliance teams and ServiceNow for joint innovation PoCs.
- Provide technical depth and engineering execution support for each portfolio area.
Engineering Governance & Quality Standards
- Define engineering standards, coding best practices, versioning, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps expectations.
- Ensure strong quality, security, and performance principles for all developed assets.
- Maintain a structured lifecycle for R&D assets from prototype to offering-ready solution.
Ecosystem, Alliance & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with ServiceNow architects, product managers, and engineering teams on innovation initiatives.
- Engage with ecosystem technology partners (AI platforms, automation tools, ISVs) for solution co-development.
Technical Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and mentor a global engineering community of ServiceNow developers and integration engineers.
- Strong technical background in ServiceNow development, architecture, or platform engineering.
- Demonstrated experience leading innovation, R&D, PoCs, or solution engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow domain architecture, platform extensibility, and best practices.
- Ability to translate high-level strategic directions into engineering roadmaps and deliverables.
