About the Role
The Project Manager will manage complex projects involving the development and implementation of business processes, ensuring delivery within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership
- Takes time out to reflect on project direction and recommend feasible improvements, considering lessons learned and current trends.
- Leads medium‑size (up to 30 staff) multi‑site/disciplined project teams, acting as prime to subcontractors and managing mature solutions with aspects outside own domain expertise.
- Encourages team belonging, coaches others to understand strengths, weaknesses, interests and ambitions, and creates a supportive environment.
- Proactively seeks feedback for personal development and reflects on personal behavior and actions.

Project Organisation
- Plans and controls projects with internal and external dependencies; re‑plans/baselines to maintain expected outcomes while managing scope and milestone changes.
- Provides accruals and tracking of cost of work done, with evidence of corrective actions to minimise adverse variances to budget.
- Manages risks, issues and assumptions for medium‑complexity projects involving technologies and resources outside domain expertise.
- Leverages Atos tools and processes while reconciling costs.
- Manages seamless handover of project outputs that are accepted by the client or Atos organization.
Delivery Management
- Confirms project requirements and scope with stakeholders.
- Assimilates multiple standards and agrees a common approach with key stakeholders to maintain effectiveness while meeting standards.
- Ensures changes to configuration are maintained and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proposes process improvements from project‑related measures and information.
Relationship Management
- Proactively seeks customer feedback and takes appropriate action, always considering the impact of decisions on the customer.
- Demonstrates strong consistency between communication and action, maintains confidentiality and does not misrepresent others.
- Facilitates discussion and compromise to establish agreed decisions and actions.
- Effectively communicates complex information to different audiences and actively engages stakeholders.
Commercial Drive
- Demonstrates clear understanding of actions on costs and profitability; identifies and addresses potential threats to delivery.
- Engages with other parts of Atos to improve integrated service offerings and delivery.
- Manages overall change control, including documentation and impact analysis, and negotiates with key stakeholders to agree changes.
- Leads medium‑complexity projects with respect to revenue and margin, team size, geographical spread, subcontractor terms, risk profile and diverse technologies.
- Meets contractual/Atos standards and liaises with the Account Manager to maintain effective client relationships.
Skillset and Experience
Project Organisation
- Plans and controls projects with external dependencies, replans/baselines to maintain outcomes.
- Manages scope and milestone changes.
- Proactively manages risks, issues and changes using documented time‑bound actions.
- Leverages tools and processes in multi‑project environments, reconciling multiple cost/revenue streams.
- Engages stakeholders and combines defined tools/processes to minimize duplication and maintain effectiveness.
- Adapts to changing circumstances, experiments with new ways of doing things and takes a positive approach to change.
Delivery Management
- Adapts planning and approach to achieve required business benefits, identifies quick‑wins and prioritises/plans accordingly.
- Defines project requirements and scope with stakeholders, suggests suitable requirement definitions and acceptance measures to remove ambiguity.
- Negotiates to maximise commercial position while delivering client value.
Commercial Drive
- Demonstrates clear understanding of own actions on costs/profitability.
- Identifies and addresses potential threats to delivery as well as contractual and solution issues.
- Engages to improve integrated service offerings and delivery.
- Manages overall change control, including documentation, impact analysis and approval, and coordinates the project plan.
- Negotiates with key stakeholders to agree changes to the approach.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Manager or proven prior project experience of leading medium‑sized projects.
- Previous AWS Migration experience.
- Must be fully mobile in terms of assignment location.
- Proven record of realistic estimation and financial/cost awareness, along with customer‑facing and behavioural skills.
- Experience managing projects valued at £2M – £5M.
- At least one External Project Management Certification preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
