Play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the organisation’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, ensuring that strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, and emerging risks are effectively identified, assessed, monitored, and reported in line with the organisation’s risk appetite and governance standards. Collaborate closely with senior management and the Board to provide clear, actionable insight into risk exposures, enabling informed decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the ERM framework, including risk identification, assessment, and reporting processes.
  • Provide timely risk reporting and insights to senior leadership and executive committees.
  • Ensure effective oversight and constructive challenge to management regarding risk matters.
  • Embed risk practices across cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain understanding of risk appetite frameworks, controls, and regulatory expectations.
  • Identify and resolve risk issues independently with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Proven experience in Enterprise and/or Operational Risk, preferably within financial services or a regulated environment.
  • Experience with ERM frameworks, including risk identification, assessment, and reporting.
  • Track record in risk governance and reporting to senior leadership and executive committees.
  • Strong understanding of risk appetite frameworks, controls, and regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to provide effective oversight and constructive challenge to management.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk information clearly.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset, able to identify and resolve issues independently.
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) within short timescales.
