As a SQL Specialist you will be involved with large scale customer infrastructure transition and transformation projects relating to specific customer infrastructure systems and associated software, ensuring that the service provided to Atos customers meets the requirements set out in the project definition.

Responsibilities will include

  • Microsoft SQL Server support, implementation and deployment
  • Thoroughly investigate and resolve problems to a highly technical standard
  • Plan and undertake changes to software/hardware as agreed with the customer
  • Assess user requirements and formulate technical specifications that are cost effective and accurately meet the identified needs of the customer
  • Install and test SQL Server software and associated products in conjunction with application providers to ensure that each element of a project performs to specification
  • Contribute to the implementation of new and modified systems in conjunction with clients to achieve identified benefits
  • Implement and maintain a standard methodology for the planning and installation of infrastructure
  • Prepare and produce systems documentation in accordance with current Atos processes and standards
  • Ensure that all development and maintenance work is undertaken in accordance with ITIL change management process Effectively monitor specific infrastructure services and identify improvements and preventative maintenance interventions.

BAU Support DBA

DBA will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modelling in support of multiple development teams.

The data warehouse supports an enterprise application suite of program management tools.

Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring the SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012,2014,2016,2017.
  • Applying SQL Server patches and hot fixes.
  • Verifying and resolving the SQL Server Blocking issues and finding and fixing the root cause.
  • Resolving the Disk space issues and finding the root cause and permanent fixes.
  • Expertise in Database backup, Recovery, Restoration and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Restoring the Databases from Production to test environment and vice versa.
  • User Management activities like adding the user and managing the permissions.
  • Creating and scheduling the jobs and troubleshooting the failed jobs.
  • Performance tuning activities like verifying the slow running queries and identifying missing indexes and usage of statistics.
  • Usage of DBCC commands and DMV’s for troubleshooting.
  • Executing the deploying the scripts in prod environment.
  • Configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting the REPLICATION and DR activities

Essential / Minimum Criteria

  • Previous Microsoft SQL Server project experience including infrastructure implementation and deployment
  • Excellent understanding of SQL infrastructures (including 2008 - 2019)
  • Well established experience in patching and upgrading SQL versions
  • Preferably MCSE certified
  • Minimum 3 years of parallel experience in setting up and maintaining production Microsoft SQL Server instances.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Database Performance Tuning
  • Strong knowledge in installing/managing SQL failover clustering, configuring log shipping and mirroring
  • Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery technologies, with experience of implementing and maintenance
  • Good experience in replication set up and DTS/SSIS
  • Configuration of database monitoring using SQL native or third-party software
  • Experience of large scale infrastructure transition and transformation projects
  • Installation and configuration of SQL Reporting Services, SQL Management Studio and other software /tools
  • Set up database backup and perform database recovery when required
  • DB Upgrade, DB migrations and patching of existing SQL databases
  • Optimize SQL Database performance and guide application team to tune SQL queries
  • Automation of database related activities

  • Microsoft Certification
    · Knowledge of Oracle, and DB2 LUW database technologies
    · Knowledge of Windows Server configuration
