Role purpose:
Provides database engineering and administration for the migration — building, tuning and migrating databases (notably Oracle) into the cloud platform while protecting data integrity.
Key responsibilities:
- Build, configure and administer database environments on the target platform.
- Execute data migration, validation and reconciliation from legacy databases.
- Tune performance and support dual-running data sync.
- Resolve database incidents/problems and support defect resolution.
- Maintain database documentation and running instructions.
Skills We Can’t Do Without:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Strong experience in Oracle database administration.
- Expertise in data migration, validation, and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Proven ability to ensure data integrity and database reliability.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration.
Communication skills:
Must have excellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation.
Location:
On-site 3 days/week at a base location — Benton Park View (Newcastle), Manchester Corporate Hub, or Peel Park (Blackpool); hybrid. Standard 8-hour day, Mon–Fri.
Essential Criteria – SC Eligibility:
To be eligible for SC clearance, you must have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years.
