The Role
Digital Transformation Consulting (DTC) is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join the Insight practice, a rapidly expanding and strategically important capability within Atos UK Consulting. This is a consulting-led, early-career role for an individual with a strong analytical foundation, curiosity for data and AI, and a desire to gain hands-on experience delivering real-world data science solutions for UK Government and enterprise clients. The role is ideal for someone looking to grow technical capability while developing strong client-facing consulting skills.
The Opportunity
As a Junior Data Scientist, you will work within multidisciplinary teams, supporting senior data scientists, consultants, and engineers to deliver analytics and AI-driven solutions. You will gain exposure across the full data science lifecycle, from problem exploration and data preparation through to model development, evaluation, and deployment, supported by structured learning and mentoring.
What you will do
- Support client engagements by analysing data, exploring patterns, and helping frame business and analytical problems.
- Assist in developing and evaluating statistical models, machine learning solutions, and AI-enabled analytics.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of data science solutions alongside senior data scientists and data engineers.
- Prepare data, features, and documentation to support reproducible and well-governed analytics.
- Communicate findings clearly within project teams and support the translation of insights into business-focused outputs.
- Apply responsible, ethical, and secure data and AI practices across client work.
- Develop skills through on-the-job learning, training, and mentoring within the Insight practice.
