R&D Engineering Lead

Senior technical leader within the Global ServiceNow Portfolio organisation, reporting directly to the CTO / Portfolio Lead. Responsible for driving engineering-led innovation, building next-generation accelerators, architecting cutting‑edge GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities, and supporting the creation of differentiated IP for Atos’ global ServiceNow business.

Strategic Impact

  • Drive the technical innovation engine for the global ServiceNow business, aligned to portfolio strategy.
  • Build reusable frameworks, accelerators, AI‑powered components, and IP that enhance competitive differentiation.
  • Lead R&D initiatives exploring GenAI, Agentic AI, automation, integration patterns, and emerging ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Strengthen Atos’ positioning with ServiceNow through technical excellence, joint innovation, and prototype delivery.
  • Enable faster time‑to‑market for global offerings through engineering velocity and reusable asset development.
  • Translate future‑looking technology trends into actionable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the R&D strategy to support portfolio roadmap, innovation priorities, and future investments.
  • Identify emerging technologies, ServiceNow releases, and ecosystem opportunities to shape next‑gen solutions.
  • Partner with the CTO on strategic bets and long‑term capability building.

AI Engineering & Next‑Generation Solutions

  • Lead engineering design and development of GenAI solutions, Agentic AI components (autonomous agents and workflow orchestration), AI‑infused accelerators, decisioning engines, and knowledge automation.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Directors to embed AI capabilities into global offerings.

Accelerator, Framework, and Asset Development

  • Architect and oversee development of reusable assets such as reference implementations, technical frameworks, and integration templates.
  • Ensure all assets follow engineering best practices, are production‑grade, and integrate into delivery methodologies.

Technical Prototyping & Proof‑of‑Concepts (PoCs)

  • Lead technical PoCs for ServiceNow modules, AI capabilities, platform extensions, and ecosystem technologies.
  • Validate technical feasibility of new portfolio ideas before commercialization.
  • Partner with Alliance teams and ServiceNow for joint innovation PoCs.

Collaboration with Portfolio Directors

  • Provide technical depth and engineering execution support for each portfolio area.
  • Architect component solutions and beta prototypes.
  • Ensure solution offerings are technically robust, scalable, and differentiated.

Engineering Governance & Quality Standards

  • Define engineering standards, coding best practices, versioning, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps expectations.
  • Ensure strong quality, security, and performance principles for all developed assets.
  • Maintain a structured lifecycle for R&D assets from prototype to offering‑ready solution.

Ecosystem, Alliance & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with ServiceNow architects, product managers, and engineering teams on innovation initiatives.
  • Engage with ecosystem technology partners for solution co‑development.
  • Support Knowledge, AI Summit, and external events by showcasing R&D innovations and prototypes.

Technical Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and mentor a global engineering community of ServiceNow developers and automation specialists.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

Required Experience & Capabilities

  • Strong technical background in ServiceNow development, architecture, or platform engineering.
  • Hands‑on expertise with ServiceNow App Engine, Integration Hub, Automation Engine, GenAI capabilities (LLMs, vector search, embeddings, orchestration), AI agents, workflow automation, and cognitive services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading innovation, R&D, PoCs, or solution engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow domain architecture, platform extensibility, and best practices.
  • Ability to translate high‑level strategic directions into engineering roadmaps and deliverables.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across portfolio, sales, delivery, alliances, and industry teams.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving ability with an innovation‑first mindset.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to present technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences.
