As a Cloud Presales Architect within the Atos UK&I Data, AI, Cloud & Modern Infrastructure Business Line, you will play a key role in shaping compelling cloud solutions for complex customer bids and tenders. Working closely with Bid Managers, Sales teams, Commercial Leads, Delivery Architects, and subject matter experts, you will take ownership of the relevant technical elements of Invitations to Tender, Requests for Proposal, and competitive framework submissions.
You will design and articulate secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions that meet customer requirements while aligning with Atos’ strategic, delivery, and commercial objectives. The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, bid-writing capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver high-quality work within demanding bid timelines.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead or support the technical solution design for cloud bids across public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Write clear, accurate, and compelling technical and service responses for ITTs, RFPs, and competitive framework submissions.
- Translate complex customer requirements and evaluation criteria into compliant, practical, and differentiated cloud solutions.
- Work with Bid Managers, Sales teams, Commercial Leads, Delivery Architects, and Solution Owners to ensure proposals are technically viable, competitive, and commercially aligned.
- Develop high-quality solution artefacts, including architecture diagrams, service descriptions, transition approaches, assumptions, dependencies, and cost models.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with Atos governance, security standards, delivery models, service management frameworks, and approval processes.
- Support formal bid reviews and customer presentations, contributing to solution storyboarding, win themes, and executive summaries.
- Engage with internal delivery teams, partners, hyperscalers, and subject matter experts to validate assumptions and secure solution approval.
- Maintain awareness of cloud market trends, hyperscaler capabilities, and evolving customer needs to ensure Atos’ proposals remain relevant and competitive.
- Contribute to standard bid collateral, templates, architectural patterns, and reusable assets that improve the quality and efficiency of future submissions.
Skills We Can’t Do Without
- Cloud solution architecture expertise: Proven experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions across public, private, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments.
- Technical bid-writing experience: A strong track record of producing compelling technical content for large-scale ITTs, RFPs, tenders, or competitive framework submissions.
- Public cloud knowledge: Strong knowledge of one or more leading cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Cloud infrastructure understanding: Good knowledge of virtualisation, storage, networking, security, identity, resilience, and operational considerations within cloud environments.
- Service design and transition: Experience designing services and transition approaches for managed operations within hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Bid and procurement knowledge: A strong understanding of bid governance, evaluation criteria, compliance requirements, and formal public sector or enterprise procurement processes.
- Commercial awareness: The ability to balance customer requirements, technical quality, delivery risk, competitiveness, and cost considerations.
- Stakeholder management: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across both technical and commercial teams.
- Delivery under pressure: A self-motivated and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and produce high-quality outputs within critical bid deadlines.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least five years of experience within IT, cloud architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise technology roles.
- A minimum of two years of experience within a bid, tender, or presales environment.
- Demonstrable experience contributing to successful bids within the public or private sector.
- Experience working collaboratively with Bid Managers, Commercial Leads, Sales teams, Delivery Architects, and Solution Owners on complex, multidisciplinary submissions.
- Degree-level education in a technical, mathematical, engineering, computing, or business-related discipline.
- AWS Professional, Microsoft Azure Expert, Google Cloud, or an equivalent advanced cloud certification would be advantageous.
