Azure Application Architect - Eviden

Due to a period of successful expansion across our organisation, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Azure Technical Architect to join our Microsoft Practice in Eviden.

An Azure Technical Architect designs, builds, deploys, and maintains business applications and critical infrastructure inside the Azure Cloud. Responsibilities are likely to include:

• Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud applications for the organization.
• Design / Build applications with C# and .NET Core.
• Leading a development team and providing guidance, carrying out reviews.
• Understanding business objectives of the client and creating cloud-based solutions to facilitate those objectives.
• Migrating systems into the public cloud for more efficiency within the organization.
• Keeping cloud applications secure and preventing downtime or security breaches using well-architected frameworks.
• Determining the risk associated with third-party platforms or frameworks.
• Looking for ways to improve DevOps within clients to automate common tasks.
• Transferring data and internal processes to cloud architecture.
• Designing solutions to keep data leakage and downtime to an absolute minimum.
• Keeping up to date on best practices in cloud computing and making improvements to the cloud infrastructure of the client.
• Communicating with internal teams, like Sales, Operations, and IT.
• Communicating with stakeholders and building applications to meet project needs.
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring solutions.
• Providing guidance on automation, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Producing high-quality technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, HLD’s/LLD’s/implementation guides, and best practice recommendations.

In-depth knowledge of a wide range of Azure services, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Networking is required. Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices is essential, along with familiarity with Azure security tools and services, such as Defender, ATP, Azure Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, Entra and Azure Firewall.

Experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions, integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure services using technologies like Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, or Azure Arc is also necessary. Knowledge of Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics is important, as well as experience with data migration and integration strategies.

Most of our clients are UK Public Sector and Defence, so require Security Clearance. In order to qualify for Security Clearance, you must have lived and worked in the UK for at least the last 5 years. If you are unable to meet this criteria, we cannot progress your application.

This permanent staff role can be performed remotely from within the UK to support a positive work-life balance, although we also have a network of offices across the UK which you can choose to visit from time to time.
