Are you at a point in your career where you want more ownership over strategy, direction and outcomes - not just delivery? Do you enjoy leading people, shaping capability, and seeing a team succeed because of the environment you've created? Are you commercially minded, client-focused, and motivated by building something that can genuinely grow? Do you have a strong agency background across SEO, Paid Search and Paid Social, and are ready to take ownership of a digital marketing function?
We are presently looking for a Head of Digital Marketing to lead our digital marketing offering. This key role is responsible for the performance, direction and commercial success of our digital marketing division. It is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you'll balance strategic ownership with practical involvement - particularly in shaping campaigns, solving challenges and supporting the team. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and act as the senior point of contact for major clients, ensuring quality, consistency and strong relationships at every touchpoint. You'll also help identify and develop opportunities to grow accounts and the wider digital offering.
What you'll bring:
- Strong agency-side experience (essential) across SEO, Paid Search and Paid Social
- A proven ability to deliver high-performing digital campaigns and demonstrate commercial impact
- Experience managing, mentoring or leading people - or the readiness to step into a leadership role with confidence
- The credibility and communication skills to act as a senior client contact
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a growing business
What makes this role different:
This is not a purely strategic role, nor is it delivery-only. As a small but growing team, you'll have the opportunity to genuinely shape how things are done - from processes and standards to team development and client strategy. You'll have real influence over direction, supported by the talent, creativity and ambition of the wider Atomic group. You'll be given genuine ownership and influence along with the opportunity to build, lead and scale a team as the business grows. This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of a digital marketing function within an ambitious, employee-owned agency.
What we are offering:
- Remote & hybrid working - This position can be largely remote but we do think at least one day per week in our Nottingham office will be needed in order to be successful.
- Flexible hours - Our contracted hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm with 30 mins for lunch. But with agreement from your line manager, and subject to you working our core hours of 10am-4pm, you are free to vary your start and finish times.
- Profit share - Our status of being employee owned means that individually, via an Employee Ownership Trust, we each own a small part of the business.
- Vitality - You’ll receive extensive private medical care through Vitality, providing access to private healthcare and a private GP, along with dental, hearing, optical care.
- Generous annual leave entitlement - You’ll receive up to 34 days leave including bank holidays and your birthday; no one should have to work on their birthday!
- Personal learning and development budget - Learning is a top priority at Atomic. You’ll be given the time (1 day per two week sprint) and resources to achieve your professional learning goals.
- Enhanced family leave policies - We offer enhanced primary and secondary parental leave and adoption leave.
- High profile client base - You’ll work on big projects for major global brands playing a key part in producing some game-changing ideas.
- A real team environment - You’ll join a friendly and supportive culture where asking for help, and getting it, is the norm.
- Socials and events - We hold regular get-togethers, social events and fun team activities.
- Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme - Put a brand new EV on your driveway via our partnership with Octopus Electric Vehicles!
Please note: You will be required to undertake our screening and pre-employment checks, which includes a criminal record (DBS) check. Any adverse check may result in an offer of employment being withdrawn. We do not hold a sponsor licence therefore you must have an existing right to work in the UK in order for us to progress your application.
